"Waste to Wealth" | short Film | Gizo, Solomon Islands

In this short documentary, Coast 2 Coast partnered with Positive Change for Marine Life to document the launch of the Waste to Wealth program in the Solomon Islands—a grassroots initiative focused on transforming waste into opportunity.

At the heart of the story is Krishna, Marine Pollution Manager from PCFML India, who traveled across the ocean as part of a Tropical Majority knowledge exchange. Drawing from his experience implementing rural innovation projects in coastal India, Krishna immersed himself in the community-led environmental efforts of the Solomon Islands. Together with local partners, youth, and community leaders, he helped spark a new chapter of waste management that includes composting, recycling, and upcycling—tailored to local realities.

This video captures a vibrant exchange of ideas, solutions, and solidarity across coastal communities, reminding us that climate action doesn’t only happen in policy rooms—it happens on the ground, in shared gardens, and in the hands of those most affected by environmental change.
