Balinese flags or Umbul Umbuls are ritual flags from Bali that represent welcome and celebration. These flags are seen in Balinese temples, gardens, houses, restaurants, and along the tropical beaches of Bali. Combined with the Tibetan tradition of flags representing the five elements (blue for sky or space; white for air or clouds; red for fire; green for water and yellow for earth), Coast 2 Coast asked orphans from the Bali Life Foundation what their wish for their coast would be. The participants each drew their prayers onto flags that were then hung in the wind outside the orphanage.
