In a remote Peruvian valley, the Marañón River (the Amazon's main tributary) widens through the Andes. Mendán is a village only accessible by walking or riding a mule along a trail for days or downstream by river boat. In this tiny inland fishing village, 28 students from the local school joined the Superhero Academy of Peru, facilitated by the academy's director, Super Azul. They described themselves as their superhero personas and how they would like to support their built and natural community, thinking about both humans and non-humans (animals, plants, the river, etc.).
