Another early C2C stop-motion animation, created in 2016, emerged from our Audiovisual Residency volunteer program in collaboration with the talented team from VCD – Videos Creados con Dibujos. They worked alongside students at I.E. Lobitos, the local school in a small fishing town in Northern Peru, where livelihoods are increasingly threatened by offshore oil drilling and unsustainable fishing practices. Together, they co-created a beautiful animation that follows a day in the life of a local fisherman—a story grounded in everyday rhythms, coastal knowledge, and deep connection to place.

This place-responsive project fostered attachment to place, encouraged intergenerational learning, and invited youth to pay attention to their village's details.
