WHAT?

In Lobitos, a fishing village and popular surfing destination along Peru’s Northern coast, there is a sizable crew of local surfers with incredible talent. Only one of them, however, is a girl. Daughter of a local fisherman, Karen is the only local woman in the water charging waves and changing gender norms in and out of the sea. As part of the Lobitos Cinema Project Documentary, Karen is directing her own short film sharing her story about the power of surfing and life as she knows it.
